Story Behind the Painting

Every floral painting I’ve created traces back to this one.

Orchid Chaos was inspired by Venezuela’s national flower and marked the beginning of my exploration of Venezuelan flora through art. As someone living far from home, painting native flowers became a way to stay connected to the place that shaped me.

I didn’t want to paint the orchid as it appears in nature. I wanted to paint how it feels to me: vibrant, expressive and impossible to overlook.

This piece became the first chapter of a collection dedicated to celebrating the beauty of Venezuelan flowers.
