Story Behind the Painting

Delicate Is a Lie marked a turning point in my artistic journey.

This painting was one of the first where I stopped trying to paint flowers realistically and started creating them through my own visual language. Instead of asking whether a flower looked accurate I focused on whether it felt true to me.

The title comes from the idea that flowers are often seen as delicate, yet they continue to bloom through changing seasons and unexpected conditions. To me, their beauty comes from resilience rather than fragility.

Over time this painting became one of my most recognizable works and inspired many of the floral compositions that followed.
